Blue Junction Transit
Blues
"We are a local three piece band from Centre County. Our musical connection goes back 20 plus years when we were all in a blues band together out of State College. This current group was reformed about 4 years ago with a focus of expanding out from the blues. A large portion of our material stems from the Grateful Dead, a band that morphed its sound out of blues, rock, bluegrass and folk influences. The original music we write and preform is born from these same genres, mixing styles in a way that from song to song, gives a diverse sampling of feel and mood."
Caledonia
Americana
"Founded in 2020, Caledonia began as a duo formed by William Ryan (vocals, guitar) and Daniel Collins (vocals, fiddle). Blending the styles of roots country, Americana, Appalachian bluegrass, and traditional Irish, their goal is to create authentic music that many listeners can connect with.
After playing as a duo for several years, Evan Stearns joined with his upright bass, followed by Adam Laird on mandolin and vocalist Natalie Race (Raven and the Wren, Pure Cane Sugar). Drummer Noah Connely, with harmonica wizard Nathan Cutshall (Ma’am) often accompany the band.
Caledonia has twice been awarded first place in the Pennsylvania Heritage songwriting contest for their original songs "Four Mile Road" and "Pennsylvania Grass". The band is currently working on their first full length album but has previously released a 2 track E.P. “Indian Creek Sessions” produced by Grammy award winning musician Chance McCoy (Old Crow Medicine Show), and a single “December”, both of which are available wherever you stream music."

Donna The Buffalo
Roots Rock
"A musician friend suggested "Dawn of the Buffalo" as a name for the band, which was misheard as "Donna the Buffalo" and, over thirty years later, the band is still called "Donna the Buffalo". The followers of the group are called The Herd, a self-organized "tribe" of people who found each other at the group's live events. Donna the Buffalo is one of the founding and host bands of the annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance, and of the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival; and is among the headliners at The Great Blue Heron Music Festival in Sherman, New York. The band was featured in On The Bus, a documentary co-directed by Dave Sale. The band has performed and recorded with a variety of musicians, including such prominent folk/roots performers as Jim Lauderdale, the father and son zydeco musicians Preston and Keith Frank, Bela Fleck of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, the Malian musician Mamadou Diabate, Claire Lynch, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, The Duhks and Amy Helm. In 2009, Tara Nevins toured with the former Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann and his band, BK3."
Driftwood
Folk Rock
"Music has guided Driftwood to hallowed ground many times since its founding members, Joe Kollar and Dan Forsyth, started making music as high schoolers in Joe's parents' basement. Whether the Upstate New York folk rock group—which today also includes violinist Claire Byrne, bassist Joey Arcuri, and drummer Sam Fishman—are converting new fans on a hardscrabble tour across the country or playing to a devoted crowd at hero Levon Helm’s Woodstock barn, the band’s shapeshifting approach to folk music continues to break new ground. And yet in many ways Driftwood's latest work, the transformative December Last Call, finds the group coming home. One of Driftwood’s biggest differentiators—and perhaps its biggest strength—is the sheer breadth of talent in its lineup, with Claire, Joe, and Dan all contributing as songwriters and vocalists. This creative push-pull, where each selects songs to share with the group and record together, bakes vulnerability and collaborative spirit into every recording. “It's at the heart of what we do,” says Dan. “Everybody has a strong love for songs, for songwriting, and we each appreciate everybody else and the way that they contribute to that.” This approach makes all the more sense when you consider Driftwood’s live shows, which operate not only as effervescent, twang-studded musical parties, but also as reunions for their throng of devoted listeners—folks who have started to feel less like fans and more like something bigger. “They're supporters. They're friends,” explains Joe. “It's crazy how much love we've got and how many wild situations on the road we've gotten out of because of those people.”
Dusty Syns
Blue-Rock
"Dusty Syns is a four piece “Blues-Rock” band that is comprised of three Penns Valley High School alumni and one “Johnny-Come-Lately” lead guitarist who’s been in the area now for only about forty years.
On Drums and Vocals is Wade Flick who has been in area bands now since the 1970’s and has held the beat for such varied acts as Four Score, Nitro, Jupiter, Not Guilty, Jam Packed, Hawestone and Chris Bell. Wade’s younger brother Quinton Flick is on Bass and Backing Vocals and has been a fixture in the Central Pennsylvania music scene since the early 1990’s when he joined his brother Wade in Not Guilty. After Not Guilty, Quinton was the Bass player for the popular local bands Global Trance, Wide Open and Jam Packed. On Rhythm Guitar, Keyboards, Harmonica and Vocals is Jim Catherman. Jim and Wade Flick’s musical ties go the whole way back to Four Score in the 1970’s and their friendship back to the fourth grade at Centre Hall Elementary. For the past 35 years Jim has also been a Vocalist and Bass player for the perennial San Francisco Bay Area Rock Band, Audio Mynde. Last but certainly not the least is Tim Whitehill on Lead Guitar and Vocals. While not a Penns Valley High School alumni, the rest of the Band has “raised him like he was our own”. Tim has previously played Lead Guitar for multiple area bands such as Gypsy and Crazy Moon, Shattered ICE, Dirty Agnes and a fill in guitarist for other area bands. Together Wade, Quinton, Jim and Tim formed Dusty Syns a few years back and have focused their sound on a foundation of Blues and Rock that never fails to deliver. With a mixture of original songs and covers that not everyone does (they pride themselves on being the Kings of the “B-Sides”), Dusty Syns can always be counted on to “Kick up the Dust”."

"Front & Main is a Soul Rock band based out of the crossroads of the Ithaca, Syracuse, and Binghamton, NY, music scenes. Collaborators Michael Wu and Paul Shotwell have gathered a slew of A-list musicians from across the region to bring their original compositions to life. Their songs range in influence from across the rock spectrum; ballads and upbeat rockers taking inspiration from multiple artists from classic rock to modern rock - all overlaid with Shotwell’s smoky, soulful vocals.
Paul Shotwell. Paul has worked around the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions of New York as a solo singer-songwriter, sound engineer, and stage technician. His powerful and instantly recognizable voice has become the trademark of his performances. Granma Ben
Americana
"Granma Ben is an acoustic trio based out of Bellefonte City and plays Americana originals and free-range, grass fed covers."
Gunpoets
Hip-Hop
"Voice as a weapon, words as bullets, spreading the universal message of peace, love, and justice through music. Sure, there's a cynical cultural tendency to make certain assumptions when you hear the word "gun" associated with rap music, but this seven-member live hip-hop band from Ithaca, NY, runs contrary to that image with their positive message and uplifting performances.
Since the band formed in 2008, their stellar catalog of albums and dedication to an ever growing and energized fan base has helped propel them to the top of the Central New York music scene. In addition to being one of the top homegrown acts in their musically rich hometown, Gunpoets have become staples at regional festivals such as the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance and the Great Blue Heron Music Festival. Progressively, over the band's 15 years together, they have also become in-demand headliners at clubs and concert series across the Northeast.
In July 2016, Gunpoets released their third studio album, Bombs Away! The album's title plays off the hard/soft juxtaposition that underlies the band's name and creative identity. The album is a call to the world to lay down all weapons of war, and to replace them with love, peace, and compassion. This powerful release exemplifies the true definition of what it means to be a Gunpoet. While it has been some time since their last release, fans will be happy to know that 2024 will be full of brand new music and surefire great shows. Stay tuned!"
Jimkata
Electro-Rock
"Four years after going on hiatus, Jimkata is back with a renewed sense of purpose and an extraordinary new album. Recorded in Syracuse with producer Jason Randall, Bonfires finds the trio digging deep and stretching their boundaries with bold, intoxicating arrangements fueled by swirling synthesizers and anthemic hooks. The songs here are at once modern and classic, blurring the lines between the organic and the electronic as they reckon with doubt, struggle, and perseverance in a search for truth and meaning. Like much of Jimkata’s catalog, Bonfires delivers transcendence in tight, dancefloor-ready packages, but there’s a sense of freedom at play that pushes the trio’s performances to new emotional heights, a kind of liberation that can only come from learning to let go of expectation and embrace the moment.
“I think the time away brought us all more maturity, more patience, an ability to see the bigger picture,” says singer/guitarist Evan Friedell. “We all gained a lot of perspective on life and the value of being in a band together.”
Indeed, the heart and soul of Jimkata has always been the enduring bonds between Friedell and his longtime bandmates, guitarist/keyboardist Aaron Gorsch and drummer Packy Lunn. Pals since middle school, the three launched Jimkata in 2005 while attending Ithaca College, where they quickly found an audience for their relentlessly feel-good performances, which grew from local house parties to club, theater, and festival dates on the strength of a series of critically acclaimed albums. Popdose hailed the band’s “bubbly sweetness,” while American Songwriter praised their “organic chemistry,” and Relix raved that the trio’s sound “proves that rock-based music still has a place in the world of four-on-the-floor beats.”
Kevin Briggs Blues Experience
Blues
"A jam of American blues and country music from the early to mid 20th century! The Kevin Briggs’ Blues Experience (KBBX) is a five-piece, electric, country-blues band from State College, PA. Their music is an mash up of American blues and country music from the early to mid 20th century, and original songs that additionally reflect a diverse array of influences. The band’s vision takes a deep dive into the heart of American roots music, paying homage to the originators of the styles, and in a way that is loose, improvisational, and above all else… a good time! The musicians in the KBBX agree on the importance of, and share a love for American roots music. The KBBX is Kevin Briggs on guitar and vocals, Jeremy Frank on harmonica, Sean Hershey on drums, Steve Branstetter on guitar, and the mighty Chris Gallagher on electric bass."

Mangling outlaw spirited alt-country & greasy garage rock they create their own concoction of country junk that'll leave yer bottles empty and yer honky-tonk hearts full.”
Maddy Walsh and the Blind Spots
Moxy Rock
"Maddy Walsh & The Blind Spots is a tenured, original, six-piece "Moxy Rock" band (their own punchy brand of danceable indie pop-rock), steered by the soaring vocals of magnetic songstress and force of nature Maddy Walsh. The band is known for its sparkly aesthetic, from Walsh's signature sequins and white go-go boots to The Blind Spots' Thrift Shop, a big rack of wild re-purposed / secondhand clothing with the band's logo printed on to their collection of music videos created to accompany songs on all four studio albums.
MW&TBS has shared festival and event bills with the likes of Lake Street Dive, Silversun Pickups, Taj Mahal, Danielle Ponder, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers, Valerie June, Rubblebucket, Jukebox the Ghost, Amy Helm, Donna the Buffalo, Sharon Jones (rest her soul), The Punch Brothers, Steve Earle, Anders Osborne, Blues Traveler, Eddie Money, and Rusted Root, among others, and with the recent addition of two new, very talented musicians, they continue to show exponential growth, as they expand their touring radius, gaining new fans and momentum with each electrifying live performance."

Richie Stearns & Aaron Lipp
Americana
"Richie Stearns is a home-grown national treasure. Cited as "one of the major contemporary innovators" in banjo playing by Mike Seeger, he has performed with Natalie Merchant, has been praised by Bela Fleck, and despite near super-stardom in the old-time scene, still manages to play at nearly every neighborhood benefit concert held around town.A founding member of both the Horse Flies and the Bubba George Stringband, Stearns has been a seminal player with the local acts Donna the Buffalo and Ti Ti Chickapea. He's on 10,000 Maniacs' "MTV Unplugged" album, and has recorded and toured with Jim Lauderdale and his former creative and romantic partner Jennie Stearns. Somehow, he still manages to find the time to play with a new project, the old-timey Evil City String Band, which also includes Pat Burke, Ben Gould and Steve Selin, among others. He's released material with all of these groups, but it's been a while since he put out something of his own."
"Aaron is from Naples, NY and has been a professional musician since age 16. From performing on stage, recording in the studio and teaching lessons, he has found his place in music . Throughout a multitude of different genre adventures and instrumentation, he has found home in songwriting with genre-defying sounds and lyrics. Aaron grew up in a musical family and began playing piano at age four. Throughout childhood, he picked up other instruments such as drums, bass, guitar, trumpet, organ, harmonica, and more. Coming from a musical family he was surrounded by all types of music from a very young age. From folk and bluegrass to rock and blues, these early years were the foundation of a long musical journey. Later in May 2006, Aaron joined Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, a local Rochester Original Roots Reggae and Dub band. He played a multitude of instruments for the group including Rhodes, Clavinet, Hammond B3 Organ, slide guitar, harmonica, wurlitzer, lap steel, guitar, and banjo. In a span of six years. During this era, Panda put out two live albums - "Live Up! Vol.1 & 2", and two studio albums - "In These Times" & "Country." Giant Panda toured constantly all over the country logging nearly half a million miles on the road. Panda later released "Steady" and "Bright Days" which feature Aaron on many instruments and harmony vocals. Throughout these years on the road and little time at home, Aaron dove heavily into Old Time and Bluegrass music, learning the traditional practices of clawhammer banjo, bottleneck slide guitar, dobro, flatpicking guitar, blues harp, old time fiddle and upright bass. Sacred steel music on the Hammond Organ and Lap Steel guitar was heavy in motion for the next musical touring adventure.
